The Case of Americans Dying waitng on a viable Organ Transplant
I'm going to concentrate on the Kidney Transplant problem primarily as this is one of the few organs we can have living donors for. We don't have to depend on the deceased. In addition living donated organs last roughly twice as long in the recipient. They are the gold standard. Yet in the United States today their are roughly 100,000 people waiting on a Kidney. We have roughly 11 to some estimates as high as 13 people dying while on the kidney waitlist every year. In a country of 300 million people how can this be?

Organ Shortages
So we know we have an organ shortage problem. But the real question is why? Is there really a shortage of donors and organs? Is the solution to incentivise people to donate? Or is the problem we have plenty of organs and willing donors but the hospitals are not motivated to act?

My Personal Journey
In an effort to find out the root cause or causes of the extreme shortage of Kidneys, I decided to doccument my journey to dontation, along with other articles and evidence I have gathered along the way that try and point to solutions and challenges.
